Lexie with New Glasses

Lexie is so beautiful. I'm the luckiest daddy in the world to have her for a daughter. Here's a picture of my baby with her new glasses. She just got them today. Her eyesight was horrible! It did a rapid change over the past couple months and got really bad. She is so happy now with her new specs. They are also Transitions lenses which get darker in UV.

Sunday God and Me Scouts Service

Logan, Lexie and I went to Beulah Presbyterian Church for service this morning. Logan helped ring the bell that signals worship time which was a really big deal to him. Any boy his age is thrilled about making large amount of noise--especially when it's approved and they know they won't get into trouble. We went in for service. I sat on the right, he sat with the other scouts on the left, and his sister sat with her friend Emily, the troop leader Paula's daughter, who she really likes.

Logan and the other boys received their God and Me pins, which is a pretty big deal. The Boyscout leader said that Pack 77 has been at Beulah for 40 years now. That is something really cool. I enjoyed the sermon today. The pastor is a very good speaker.

Observe the Master at Work

Logan is so intent on getting this right...or at least as right as he can. The biting of the upper lip shows the concentration level of his little brain(you can't see it in this photo because he's sighting in the targeting of his wheels on the track). This really cracks me up because my mom used to say the same thing about me...I would bite my tongue when I was doing something really hard. Sometimes I still do.

Saturday: District Pinewood Derby

Logan got 1st place at the Pack 77 Pinewood Derby for the Wolves, so he got to go on with the other boys from the pack to the district. He did not win, but he had a good time. Lexie was very well behaved as usual, and I think she had a good time for the most part. Here's mister's glamor shot...even though he did not actually get to Victory Lane per se, he'll always be a winner in daddy's heart. :o)

Later we went home and Lexie fixed Grilled Cheese sandwiches and Ramen Noodle soup. She is getting to be the little cook. I don't let her use the stove unless I'm around, but she even knows how to fix 'noodle soup' in the microwave. She can also fix scrambled eggs and is learning how to make an omelet! She can fix tuna salad sandwiches as well as anything that cooks in the microwave. She's a very responsible little girl for her age, and I'm really proud of her. Now if we can just bring up her grades, and the only other thing I'd ask before they are perfect is to clean up their rooms!

Friday Night Cub Scout Pack Meeting

Logan got a whole bunch of belt loops at the Blue and Gold banquet on Friday night. Mainly because he's not been to one in a while and he had a backlog of stuff he'd earned. Here's a picture of all the boys who are now officially Wolves, and the Wolf parents. Logan with is usual eyes-shut pose. *sigh*

Rubber Bands and Papercuts

I have to go thru a bunch of old paperwork for a special project I'm working on gathering data for.  Did you know that if you even look at a rubber band from 2003, it will snap in a puff of rubber dust?  Its true!
