Brown Marcrest Stoneware

I saw this peice of Marcrest Stoneware at the Peddler's Mall. I have a full set of this stuff that was my moms. They are asking $18 for just this crock with lid. I know you can bake in it and stuff, but I have only used them for storage. Right now the cookie dish is holding dog food...sorry mom... ;)

I watched The Wolfman

I was disappointed. It was not scary at all, and not really even suspenseful. Book of Eli much better. Don't waste your dollar on this if you are a fan of scary, horror, or monster movies. It was none of the above.

Beefstake Tomatoes

Kat & I got this thing at the Christmas Tree shop in Greenwood. I bought it with the intention of growing my own tomatoes inside. I tried tomatoes a few years ago on my balcony, but it faces north and I just wasn't getting much sun so we produced very few tomatoes. This thing was on markdown for like 47¢ so I thought I would give it a try again. Kat was the first to read all the way through the instructions to see where it says you have to transplant them once they've sprouted up (like now). They sit in my bedroom window which faces east. Now what am I gonna do? Suggestions welcomed at the1weasel@gmail.com Good grief!

Michelinas Lean Dinner

This lean TV dinner was actually much better tasting than a lot of "regular" ones!

Oyster Crackers

Oyster crackers sometimes make a "not as bad for you" snack. Kat and I had a few last night and she found ones that were grown together. Pretty cool!

Donations now being taken!!!

In Indiana (right across the river) there is a historic home that is for sale...for only $1. Don't worry, I have the dollar covered. What I would like everyone on the internet to chip in on is the cost of the move (estimated at $200,000) and a small bit of land to plop it down onto ($100,000). The trouble is this has to be done before August 23rd.
See full story here: $1 home for sale in Southern Indiana - FOX41.com Louisville News Kentucky Indiana News Weather Sports

Just send the money via cash, check, or money order to me via postal mail (contact me at the1weasel@gmail.com for the address which I won't give out over the internet!!) or you can Paypal it to nall.kelly@gmail.com if you want to use credit card. You can also email me if you want to donate a plot of land or movers services. :D

Please help me shamelessly profit (and provide a primary residence for my family) by saving this beautiful home built in 1864.

Father's day present: Logan's Mug

Here is the Logan Side of the mug. They are actually pretty good kids
when I can get them to stop talking back (Lexie), questioning
everything I say (Lexie), pick up after themselves (Lexie & Logan),
take out the trash (Logan), and help take care of the dog (Logan &
Lexie). Actually they are really good kids regardless of all that
common childhood junk. I love them very much.

Fathers day present: Lexie's Mug

Lexie and Logan made me this mug for father's day. They still have to
bake it, but then the ink is set and will not come off (except for
it's not dishwaser safe). We also went to Shalimar last night for
dinner, then came home and I watched "From Paris with Love" with Kat
and had a couple beers.

Fathers day gift: #1 dad trophy

Logan made me this trophy. It took me a while to figure out it was the number one.

Fathers day gift: picture frame

I got this picture frame from Lex for fathers day.

Pool "fun"

Kat let us come over to her apartment complex. They are a lot better than Derby Run at having their pool open when its supposed to be. Yesterday in rained in the morning until about 10am so they had the pool closed on the regular hours of 3-8pm. Today the lifeguard decided to do a charity fishing derby. After about half an hour Lexie was wrestling for a quarter I found and kicked me in the face. This drove the wire frame sunglasses into my eye and cut me. This put me out of the pool the rest of the day. :( I have a $25 Groupon for Shalimar that I got for $10 and so we are going to use that tonight.

BSU Paraphenelia

A couple weekends ago my friend Vince and I rode to Michigan. On the way back, we stopped into Muncie so I could pick up some Ball State stuff. I got some stickers for my scooter, two t-shirts (they were buy one get one free!) and this bumpersticker.

Honda CRV Thermostat replacement

My sister has a 97 Honda CRV. She got the oil changed the other day, plus a flush and (supposedly) fill of the radiator. A few days later her A/C stopped working and the car was oveerheating. She took it back to the oil change place and topped it off, telling her she needed a new thermostat. I volunteered and told her I could replace it for her. Its a simple procedure, but unlike the other cars I have done this on, the thermostat was not behind the top radiator hose, but the bottom one. It was a bit of a bugger to get to, but with much swearing, sweating, and cursing, I got it replaced. Also I cound out she had almost NOTHING in her radiator!!! Either they forgot to fill after the flush, or something. When I took off the lower hose, only about four ounces of coolant came out. I had to add water just to make it safe to drive. I hope they drained some of the H2O out and replaced it with antifreeze so it'll be protected this winter!

Odd Paint Job

I cannot fathom why anyone would want to get a paint job on a car that would make it look like crap. If you get close, you can see its in good shape and the paint and clearcoat is about flawless. From a couple feet away it looks damaged!!

Passing through Austin

I don't know old the Dairy Queen in Austin, Indiana is, or if it was ever part of what is now a national chain, but it sure looks old enough to be the original!
