Family Reunion

After my interview on Saturday I spent the day with Theresia at her mother's house. Her Aunt and Uncle were there who I had met once before. They are really nice and make you feel like you've known them for a long time. I got to see her sisters who I am most familiar with. They are both wonderful and I adore them. Also, her brothers Michael, Peter, William and Richard who I know pretty well. I get along really good with everyone. I don't know her brothers Thomas and Christopher or their wives so well, but I just have not spent that much time around them yet. I hope they like me when they get to know me more. I did get to hold Thomas and Rochele's baby for a few minutes, and then William and Andrea's while they were taking family pictures. That was nice-babies usually love me. As usual they had tons of food. I kind of hate to eat and not bring anything, but I was not prepared in time. I will have to fix something special next time I am invited over (if Theresia gives me enough notice!) It was a nice day and I got to hear a lot of family stories. That is they best part...I am always entertained when I go to Theresia's moms house!

Interview Saturday

I went on an interview Saturday at 2pm. It was at Wal-Mart. I think they pay $7 per hour starting, and I'm only making $6 at A.J. Plus my supervisor can't get my schedule right and keeps scheduling me for days I can't work, and off on days I can work (like this past weekend). Anyway I have talked to them 5 times on the phone and been in twice. They still are not in full comprehension of my (must be very complex) schedule of availability. Its Tuesday 530-10, Wednesday same. The every OTHER Friday from 530-whenever, all day Saturday, and all day Sunday until 8pm. I even drew it out on a calendar and they can't get it.

Friday night at work

Friday night I worked my second job. They put me in the fitting room station again. At first I thought it might be because I messed up the register really bad on my first day, but I think its that fitting room duty sucks, I'm new, and nobody else wants it. I don't hate it...its easy, but you have to stand there in one place to keep people from shoplifting, and also it feels a little pervy handling so much womens underwear. Oh well, it pays the same as anything else I would be doing. At the end of the night, as if it wasn't bad enough, I had to go to Lingere and pick up anything that was on the floor and hang it back up. After that I did the same with the "Infield" where the rest of the women's clothes are. This boy at work told us how he got slapped into cuffs for shoplifting at Kroger's the night before. He went in to buy condoms and when the lady wouldn't sell them to him (she said he was too young) he threw down a $10 bill, took the $7.99 box of condoms and walked out. I thought it was sad and funny. After work I went over to Blockbuster to trade in a couple movies then went home.

First day at part time job

This part time job is crap, but it might allow me to afford the day care. its not a bad gig, just working from 8am to 10pm sucks.

Logan lost another tooth

He cried for about 45 seconds. He is excited about it now. I told him that we won't put it under his pillow tonight because Rachael is sleeping over. He just told me he wants to brush the tooth he lost after he gets done brushing his teeth that are still in his head!

Nice Clock!

I saw this clock at AJ Wright while I was waiting for orientation yesterday. Is it in a different language, or is the word "captain" misspelled? It doesn't really matter...I'm not into hideous clocks anyway.

New Office

This is a picture of me in my new office. It is much cooler (like 10 degrees) than my old cube! I am so much more comfortable.

My Wonderful Little Guy

Last night we went to see Pawpaw and Dana. They were asking the kids about what happened on vacation, what they did, etc. I know Logan really liked Splash Mountain and I wanted him to tell them all about it so I said "Tell Pawpaw and Dana what was your favorite thing about vacation!" You know that little guy looked me right in the eye, and with no time for a second thought he said "Spending time with you, daddy." I thought I was going to cry right there. I quickly changed the subject "No, I mean what was your favorite RIDE?" (Then he said 'Splash Mountain.')

Logan makes a mean Bologna & Cheese

I was busy and running a little behind this morning, so to help out (because he was already dressed) Logan fixed me a sandwich for lunch! He is such a good boy! Lex has done this a bunch of times, but this is the first time I asked Logan...

Work-Office & Travel

The place where I have worked for a year and a half is making some changes. They basically did away with the whole department I was in except for me, and one temp. About 3 weeks ago right before vacation, my boss had accounting cut me a check to cover the costs of getting an expedited passport. He wants me to come to Monterey Mexico and meet all the people I have been working with via email and phone. On Monday he also told me I could have the old Customer Service Manager's office which is now vacant. Well, apparently somebody with more seniority has dibs on it but there are a couple other options to move me from the cubicle into an office. I might move upstairs to the nice corner office, and my temp would take the cubicle right outside the door. That is the current plan anyway. Now I just have to find someone to watch the kids on the days I am out of town.

Part-Time Job & Ramen Noodles

The ex- who is supposed to be paying $31 per week child support (the
minimum amount federally) had court date for non-payment on Monday. I
got a call today saying that the defense attorney didn't show up and
it got re-scheduled for July 19th. I am looking for a 2nd job to
cover day-care which just went up to 3 times what it was during the
school year. It is just frustrating because if she had been paying
what she was supposed to be, then we would be alright. I don't mind
getting a 2nd job because I have never thought twice about doing
whatever it takes to be a good father and take care of the kids. I
saved a portion of my tax refund, and sold my 1964 Ford Falcon so we
could have a great vacation in Florida. They did extremely well in a
new school this year, and went through a divorce (which is harder on
kids than adults). They have been great—really fantastic, and they
truly deserved it. They are 9 and 6, and it was their very first real
vacation. It's hard not to regret it just a little. The rest of this
summer will be ramen noodles and peanut butter sandwiches. They are
smart kids who will eventually figure it out later when they are
older. I don't have to drag myself down by talking bad about their
mother. Or maybe when they are 20 they will read this and make up
their own minds.

Emeril's Orlando

mmmmmmmmmmm.....

Emeril's Orlando

About 6pm, we had been around the park and seen everything on the 'must see' list at least once, the kids were hungry and it was sprinkling rain so we decided to go eat. I had been planning to take them to Emeril's because they love watching the food channel and seem to really like his show. This was the first nice restaurant they've been to. Here's their picture with the Emeril painting.

Almost to the park

The kids wanted their picture by the globe.

Race cars in City Walk

They had these race cars outside the parks in the area they called City Walk

Jim Beam

Logan chose this car to stand in front of.

Medieval Times

Lexie and Logan really enjoyed Medieval Times last night! We went swimming during the day and then did the dinner theatre at night.
