ITCHY!!!

The end of NoShavember.

Today is the last day of the month. I am happy because ever since I found out from my idiot nephew about Noshavember, razor has not touched my skin. It is itchy...

What is wrong with this picture???

Ok, I admit I missed laundry day last week, but we had a short work/school week due to the holiday. I did laundry today and this is what I discovered... 8 year old Logan has like six times the amount of dirty clothes as his 11 year old sister!!! Could it be that he is that much more concerned about his looks, style, and higyene? Is it that poor Lexie doesn't really have any clothes and so she has to wear the same ones over and over multiple times in the same week? Did the dog eat all her clothes?? Did she forget and leave them all at her mothers??? Or could it be that little brother, always cooperative and eager to please actually PUTS HIS CLOTHES IN THE HAMPER, and Ms. Lexie strews hers in several piles of mixed clean and dirty, has them hanging out of dresser drawers, and lining the bottom of her closet like some sort of nest???? You get only one guess!!!!! I love her, but she is stong willed, obtuse, argumentative and cannot (will not!) keep her room clean to save her soul!!! Grrrrr!

Really cute movie

Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs

The kids don't know it yet, but I've asked their mother to meet me at Village 8. Among other things, they are showing Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. It is a surprise and they don't know it yet. The movie starts at 3:20 and lasts 1 hour and 20 minutes... It looks really cute.

Climbing Rock

The big rock to climb on is their favorite.

They begged to come back

The kids begged to come back to the park, even though it was only like 45 degrees outside!

Charlie Brown Thanksgiving

I don't guess it would be Thanksgiving without Charlie Brown...

Happy Thanksgiving

This little set of salt & pepper shakers and stuff does NOT belong to me. It belongs to my friend Kathy. But I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Turkey Day from me & the kids.

Eggs Ala Goldenrod

Mmmmm....

Playing at the park

McNeely Park

We went over to have lunch with Kat and her son Shelby. Afterwards, I took what I thought was a shortcut home. It ended up on the road where McNeely Lake is at, so we went to the park for a bit. They played with the cats, investigated the cave, and now they are playing on the new playground equipment.

B*llsh*t!

Netflix is stupid. I have DSL and don't share my connection with anyone! My connection does NOT slow down. I think they just have a hard time on their end streaming movies and all the huge amount of bandwidth it must require...

The best thing Lexie ever gave me!

Lexie brought home this bumper sticker for our car. I could not be any happier than I was at that moment. Such a good kid, and loving daughter (this week!).

Train

On the way to pick up the kids last night, I got caught by a train. I hate getting caught by a train, but this wasnothing like the last time. The last time I got caught by a train, it was raining-a really good downpour-and it was a long train...maybe 8 or 10 minutes. Normally this would not suck too bad, but I was on my scooter!

Tooth necklace

Logan got this tooth necklace at school for halloween (also a tooth brush, tooth paste, floss...and a peice of candy!) He gave the necklace to sissy. She was delighted because it meant she didnt have to lose a tooth during the school day which is usually the only way to get one. She told me about the time she had a barely-loose tooth but she worked at it all day long until she got it out...just to get the necklace!! What a goofball! I love her!

WC Lounge: sweet potato fries

Ok, its been a while since Ive been to The Castle, but when did they get sweet potato fries? I didnt try them, but it seems like something very uncharacteristic for them to have. Where will it stop? Oysters Rockafeller???

Good Grades

Lexie got Straight A Honor Roll this grading period and Logan ALWAYS gets good grades, so I took them to A&W/Long John Silver's for dinner. I relented and let them have a Root Beer Float for dessert. I think they liked it...

NoSHAVEmber

I usually have a goatee. Last month we had an early cold weather spell so I decided to grow my beard. Its not much of one...I keep it trimmed about one inch wide with my trimmers. A week ago I noticed it was getting lopsided, so over the weekend I let it grow, then on Monday I trimmed my beard down with the clippers to be about the same height as my 3 day growth (which is to say not much). This weekend I was going to trim it all up again, but I logged on Facebook and saw where my 21 year old nephew and his buddies were doing this thing about not shaving for the month of November, calling it Noshavember. Always a fan of a good stupid immature whim, I decided to join them. This is like my first week, it itches just a little, and my nephew has already wussed out. These kids today must not understand commitment...

Nice Ride Tomorrow

I have organized a nice ride tomorrow. We're taking some back roads
up to Madison, Indiana on the Kentucky side of the Ohio River. We're
going to stop for lunch at a sandwich shop, then come back through
Clifty Falls State Park and on down the Indiana side of the Ohio. It
is supposed to be near perfect temperature and weather. So far I have
a couple folks confirmed and a few more who may or may not show up. I
hope to see a good crew. We are meeting at 930AM at Doughnut Kastle
near the corner of New Lagrange Road and Lyndon Lane.

Waiting to pick up Lexie

We are waiting to pick up sister from the zoo where she had an overnight field trip to learn about the nocturnal habits of the animals!

More clothes for Lexie

For a girl who never asks me to buy her clothes, she sure loves them! These are more hand-offs from Kathy via a co-worker! Lexie has her own tastes, and often picks things that are not very flattering. If I tell her "that doesn't look as good as some other things..." (or whatever) she will wear it anyway. If a girl (i.e. Kat) tells her "this really brings out yor eyes!" or "that is very flattering!" then she will latch onto whatever it is for life and wear it until its worn out! She's a good kid...

Well, I think she's an ANGEL!

My favorite scout leader, Paula, dressed up for Halloween as a witch! She always dresses up for Halloween!

My Halloween

Kathy totally ROCKS!! I looked all over for this candy--the only candy I really wanted. These peanut butter kisses were the candy that my mom got every single year. I remember other stuff too, but she would always get these! I like 'em because they have that little glop of peanut butter in the middle.

Lexie's Bountiful Harvest

Can you see the sugar-crazed look in her eyes? She merrily traded Logan to get all his Twizzlers...

Halloween: the aftermath

Can you just see the tooth decay? This is only part of Logan's haul. He was happily in the middle of organizing!

Kathy likes to be bouncy!??!

Here is Kat in her Tigger costume. I thought it was cute but there are really better feline costumes... I think any version of Catwoman would be excellent!

Lexie Full View

Lexie had these cute little tights that went with her costume, but also drove her crazy trying to keep them up!

Lexie dressed up as Elphaba

Lex dressed up as Elphaba from the musical "Wicked". All the greasepaint makeup on these kids was murder!

Scary Logan!

Here's Logan taken outside Mark's house. Mark had a bonfire with weinie roast. It was really nice!

Logan's Costume-Full View

Here's a full view of Logan's costume.

Logan's Halloween Costume

Logan wanted to be a black-face spector with red glowing eyes, but every item of red makeup said not for use around eyes...so he settled for being death/the grim reaper.

Lumberjack Splott

We got Splott this plaid doggie jacket. It was only $2.50! He likes it better than his sweater which you can tell because he doesn't try to rub it off on everything. Lex also gave him a bath this weekend!

Saturday Afternoon

Lexie wanted to go to a soccer game with our neighbor Janet, so Logan, Kat and I went to do some errands. We had to run to Target. We got Logana new hooded zip-up sweatshirtbecause the zipper had broken on his. Here is Logan sitting on the post thing outside the store.

Logan's Lego Creation

Logan was in a Lego mood this weekend. It was cold and nasty most of the early part of the day Saturday. He built this Legomobile...
