Bludy Jo

Logan's monster Bludy Jo is so cool! He has a snake head, blud red dots, bat wings, horns sticing out of his head and purple gloaing yies. He plays Monoply, rides a bike, plays dogball, and reads books. He eats crayfish!!!

Logan Pulls His Own Tooth!

Last night, Logan devised a unique way to pull his own tooth. Check out the quick web page I put together to show everyone...CLICK HERE.

I am so proud of the little guy! The tooth fairy brought him more than the usual dollar for his ingenuity!!!

Logan at the Camp Playground

There were some other kids playing keep-away with Logan...he was the shark and they were running from him. He was having fun!

Rocket Girl

They really didn't have much in the way of a playground at Otter Creek, but there is always much more fun to be had hiking, fishing, and exploring...and picking ticks (I checked the like three times because we found one on Logan's shoe)!

Ass Sanitizer?

They had this nifty stuff at the nature center at Otter Creek State Park. It is just like the hand sanitizer you see in so many places. They even installed a dispenser in the break room at work-I don't know why-there is a sink with hot water and a hand soap dispenser...still you would be surprised at the upstanding upper eschelon types you see who come in the men's restroom, use the urinal, and leave without scrubbing up... Anyway, I think there is no functional difference between this dispenser and the one for hand cleaning aside from the instructions. Simply put, it tells you to rip off some toilet paper, squirt on a liberal amount of (what I call) the Ass Sanitizer, and swab down the seat. Then flush the toilet paper, and get down to business. It left me feeling very germ safe, but I did wonder-what do I do later if my ass starts to burn with a reaction to the chemicals? Is there some soothing lotion in there too to counteract the possible irritation? I have always seen caution clauses on most bottles of hand sanitizer and I would think your nether regions are quite a bit more sensitive. It has been over 48 hours and I've showered twice, so I am certain I'm ok. I know I needed to say that so all my readers don't worry too much. Can you imagine going to the doctor with a ring shaped burn on your butt and trying to explain? That would truly suck.

The Last Mimsy

The kids and I finished off our weekend with The Last Mimsy at Village 8. They really liked it. I am completely whipped. I tried camping without my inflatible matress last night and I don't think I got a minutes sleep. Lexie has CATs testing starting Tuesday so its bed at 8:30 sharp and a super breakfast the rest of the week.

Morning

We has bacon eggs and toast for breakfast. Then I did cleaning up while the kids went 'hiking'. They walked around the little paths in the campground area. I am going to take them to the creek and let them play and wade as soon as we get everything packed up.

Perfect

This place is a little crowded but I suppose that's because it is just completely perfect today. I found out a kindergarteners greatest fear today. I took Logan to the bathroom after we came back with our firewood. He had to take a dump, and he used like 14 rolls of toilet paper. When I told him to flush, he got this horrified look on his face and said "No! Its gonna flood!!" I guess kindergarteners are still getting butt-wiping technique down and I figure this happens all the time. I can see a bunch of little boys all around a commode saying "You flush it! I'm not gonna flush it!" then the poor little guy whose poop it is has to flush and they all get the same panic-stricken look on their faces "Its gonna flood!" And they start frantically looking for the nearest route of escape. Anything so they don't have to touch poopie-water! So I told Logan, "its YOUR poop..." and I just let that sink in for a minute. Then "you're gonna have to get it out..." you should have seen the look on his face! It was so funny! He started shaking his head and said "No way!" so I told told him to go get a stick and we plunged it down like that. It was so funny!

Car camping

Nothing super adventurous for us. we park and camp. there is always bathrooms nearby and they have a water faucet, electric post, and fire ring.

Bratwurst for lunch

We are camping at Otter Creek Park today. We fixed bratwurst for lunch.

Grilling out...

It has been a very long time since the kids and I have had beef of any consequence so tonight I got out the little portable gas grill and fixed T-bones that I got at the Valumarket meat sale. Theresia and Rachael came over and we all had a good meal. Also, we were babysitting Kendall, Theresia's granddaughter. I have the sexiest grandma on the block! Its only 5 more weeks till end of school and vacation. Tomorrow is Saturday and its also Thunder over Louisville day. They have a big air show during the day and one of the world's largest fireworks displays in the evening. The kids and I are skipping down and going camping at Otter Creek Park in Brandenberg. The main reason for that is because the weather is supposed to be perfect.

I guess his teacher's comment says it all...
You just gotta love these kids....

My dear sweet Judy...

Judy is gone. She sold on ebay Friday. The young fellow who came with his mom and dad seemed nice enough. They all seemed nice and the mom was the one to drive her away. She had a hard time reaching the pedals and shifting. You know, I've always said you don't drive Judy as much as she drives you... I will miss the old girl. She was the best damn car I ever owned. Probably the most distinctly beautiful car as well. I hated to get rid of her but we needed the money for vacation and I have not had the car licensed since I got the Alero. She needed to be with somebody who was going to finish restoring her and taking care of her. Some day a long time from now, I want to get a little three bedroom house for me and the kids. And when I do, I want a two car garage. One side for my daily driver or tools and stuff, and one side for another Ford Falcon. I asked the people "Please take good care of her." and the mom said "Oh, we will..." I have never felt so much love for an inanimate object before in my life. I think I will miss that car a lot more than any pet, or woman (present girlfriend excepted) in my life.

TMNT!

The kids and I went to see TMNT tonight as a special treat because they are on spring break this week. I couldn't do anything really cool with them because I work every day. I didn't tell them we were going to see a movie when I picked them up, I just rushed them and they kept asking 'why?'. I got them a hotdog and we took peanuts and candy in my pockets. Plus we got popcorn and a diet soda. Not much nutrition there, but when we eat at home I fix square meals every night. So I guess its ok every once in a while... Logan was bummed at first that it wasn't Meet the Robinsons, but 15 minutes in he was riveted, and at the end it was the 'best movie ever'! Lexie thought it was cool all the way through. I have GOT to get the soundtrack, which was the best I've heard on a PG movie since The Transformers back in the 80's!

Where a kid can be a kid... Safe Email

This is when we were leaving Chuck E. Cheese. They really did have some fun! I set up mail addresses for both kids last night and showed them how to get on and send emails and check them. I have filters set up so that they can only get emails from specific people. If you want to send them email let me know and I will set you up. Its really just anything I can do to get them to increase their language skills. Lexie got a penpal from the Girl Scouts, Logan wanted one too but there was nobody his age I knew that he could write to, so I wanted to do something.

Surprised at Chuck E. Cheese!

I looked online and got a coupon for Chuck E Cheese. It was like $18 for a large 2 topping, 3 drinks, and 30 tokens. Lexie wanted to go skating but Skate World was closed. The pizza here was the biggest surprise because it was actually good! I remember when you would dread coming here because the prices you had to pay for pizza that had that straight-out-of-the-gas-station-microwave taste. With another coupon I would actually bring the kids back here again. Now if they just had Wi-Fi!

Playing with Shadow and Ginger

This is a picture of Lexie and Logan playing with the gerbils using the playpen that Logan got for Lex.

Lexie's Birthday Party

Yesterday we had a birthday party for Lexie. She will be 9 next Friday but next week is spring break and they will be with their mother on Thursday morning until Sunday night. Aunt Patti, Theresia and Rachael, and Pawpaw and Dana all came over for lunch and stayed for cake, ice cream, presents, and Lex did "Soak up the Sun" on the karaoke machine. I made Lexie a 3 layer cake. Lexie picked out chocolate and yellow cake. I made chocolate on bottom, yellow in the middle, then chocolate on the top layer. The icing was double-chocolate fudge with chocolate chips. Logan got her a gerbil playpen, a Hawaiin Tropic shirt, a jump rope, and flip-flops. I got her a sleeping bag and clothes. Pawpaw and Dana got her hair beading kit and one of those things that put rinestones in your jeans and clothes. Aunt Patti got her socks and underwear, barbies and clothes, and Theresia and Rachael got her a bed in a bag and pillow. The comforter says Rock and Roll all over it. Lexie just told me she had a good birthday.

Price Elementary Talent Show

Lexie tried out for the Price Talent show and she made it! It is on Thursday, April 26th from 6pm to 8pm! She is singing "Soak Up the Sun" by Sheryl Crow. She really did good at the tryouts so I was not at all surprised that she made it. I want to get her a pretty sun dress to wear. I am going to try and do that for her birthday. I have to keep our budget really tight right now because vacation is at the end of May when the kids get out of school-that, and I'm currently under my projected budget by several hundred dollars. I hope to get my Ford Falcon sold by then!

The break-up

We decided to split up Sammy and Finny our Betta fish. we had them side by side but Finny was just floating in the same spot all the time. I thought he was going to die so I moved them apart. He started acting different and swimming around so I guess he was getting stressed out!

Spongebob Squaretie

The kids got me this tie a long time ago and I've never gotten the chance to wear it, so I put it on today. They are proud of themselves when they see me wear, play with, read, or otherwise use something they picked out...

Charlie's stanky Thai food

Charlie brings lunch from home that his mom made for dinner the night before. He does this about every day. The funny thing is that he eats it as a snack all morning long and then has to go out to get lunch. Well, he used to eat it in his office, but the other three people said the smell was really makin them ill, so now he brings it over to my cubicle and stuffs his head full of this food about every hour or so. Its freaky and I hate to watch him eat. Today he had this ugly brown boiled egg thing. It looked rotten to me...

Monopoly Jr. (thanks Aunt Patti!)

Patti and Bobby gave us this game when they moved. After the kids mom dropped them off last night, we played one game of it. It was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. We really had a good time playing, and they both got to exercise their math and language skills making change and reading the Chance cards. I need to find more games like this! its awesome! (I won and Logan came in second...)
