Inconsiderate Laundry Offender

This woman sucks! When you see other members of the human race (me) struggling to survive(get their clothes dry) you should not stand by(be lazy and inconsiderate) and let them perish(stay up half the night). If you see this lady at the laundry, punch her in the throat.

Inconsiderate Launderers

These idiots are using the dryers to store their clothes until they get around to folding them. Every dryer in the place is running! These people totally suck and if you see them, you should punch them in the throat!

My daughter kicks butt with a bow!

Lexie's archery teacher sent a link to his photo album of pictures from the tournament she was just in.  She scored a total of 179 points out of 300.  She was fifth in scores among kids at her middle school.  She did really well, but had a few bad shots.  If she brought those few up, she could be doing super!

Here is a link to her archery teacher's pictures: 2010 Bullitt East Archery Tournament

I hope you enjoy them!!

Mace/Pepper Spray

I was mentioning to a co-worker how I believe my daughter might be
able to take down an assailant at 30 meters or so with her bow...  She
said to me "I carry pepper spray."  That reminded me of the time that
I was helping my brother Mike deliver newspapers.  He also had some
MACE brand spray--like postmen used to carry to repel dogs.  I was
playing with it, and got just a little bit on my hand...but I did not
know..until....I rubbed my eye....

I was unable to see for about an hour because I was crying so much. I
can attest that it is actually very painful, and really would be quite
capable of incapacitating someone. Apparently it is also very amusing
to watch this, as he was also incapacitated for about the same amount
of time rolling around on the ground laughing at me.

Primary life lesson: Never fool around with dangerous things if you
have not seen first-hand what they can do.

More subtle lesson: Older brothers love you and may watch out for
you, but--once knowing you will be ok--will not hesitate to laugh
mercilessly at your stupidity and any pain which it brings you.

New Use for the Annoy-A-Tron

The fellows at Think Geek dot com are genius for coming up with the Annoy-a-tron.  It's a little circuit board with two switches.  The first is on-off.  The second is a selector.  It has a magnet on the back to stick to anything metal.  Every 5-8 minutes (specific time is random!) the Annoy-a-tron will send out a little BEEP or BUZZ.  The BUZZ I never use, but the third setting is randomly BEEP or BUZZ.  If you ever heard the thing, you would know why it's called Annoy-a-tron.  For a week now, I had the selector on BEEP.  Location: Lexie's room!  Now at first you might think this is a mean prank to pull on my wonderful daughter, but...if you would see what a total pit her room is, you would know.  I am using the Annoy-a-tron as motivation.  I asked her after about a week of the beeping "What is that beeping noise in your room???"

Lexie replied "I don't know, but it's driving me crazy!!!!"

"Well, you had better clean out your room so that you can figure out what's making it..." I said to her.

"You're right." and she spent 3 hours working on her room yesterday before Logan's Birthday party.  It still needs a lot of work, so I changed from BEEP to BEEP/BUZZ this morning.  That ought to do it...

Logan's Birthday Party

Logan had a good time with his friends and sister yesterday. He received nice presents and played several games. After "build your lego" race, they played the Unwrap Game. This is a a game played in a circle. There was a gift wrapped in many layers of paper. The first person puts on a pair of gloves and is handed the present to unwrap. The next person is handed a pair of dice. When the host says "go", the first person begins unwrapping the gift until the second person rolls doubles. At that time, the host shouts "stop" and the present and dice switch to the next people in line around the circle. Each layer of wrapping paper must be taken off before another may be removed. The person to remove the final layer of paper is the winner, and the prize is the gift that was unwrapped! After that the kids did some free play in Logan's room and then cake and ice cream. The final game was the Cookie game. Each kid starts with an oreo cookie on their forehead, which they have to work down their faces and into their mouths. That was silly but fun! Even though there were only four other friends, I believe Logan had a GREAT time! Kathy earns big kudos for all her help, ideas and planning.

Kids talked us in to Tommys

The Late Christopher Bean

It was amazing for me to see Mr. Weatherston again after over twenty years. He looks exactly the same. I am positive he didnt remember my name, no blaming him for that after so many students. I do think that he remembered my face. I was able to give him a hug, this teacher who I admired, respected, and was very fond of--and that meant the world to me. He was the best instructor I ever had. The show will start soon, and this could be the last time I ever see Mr. Tom Weatherston as we were never really personal friends. This was a really big deal for me.

Fifteen Meter Range - Practice

This is cool because she is much closer. I know she could take down a deer easy! This is so cool!

Shooting for Score

They are shooting for scores at 10m right now!

Ready to Shoot

Lex is getting ready for the practice round at shorter range (I think its 10 meters).

Lexie's Archery Tournament

Lexie shoots at 10 and we are here an hour early so we can get her checked in, etc. We are at East Bullitt High School in Mt. Washington, KY.

Table setting

By reservation only

Candlelight with Tablecloths

They have a flower vase, candlelight with linen tablecloth and napkins.

Romantic Dinner

I made reservations for Kat and I at the W.C. Lounge. It was mainly as a joke, but the employees take it very seriously!

Asshat

The neighbor where my sister lived always had a complete sh*t-fit if she parked in "his spots" Their doors fit next to each other, and he always wanted the two closest, which would put sis parking much further away from her door. For two years he has been a total asshat about it. Now, the day she moves out, he takes "her" spot immediately. This puts Kat and I parking further away, and we are loading the car! I was about to go over and knock on his door and tell him to move the car. People like this just totally burn me up!

New Pumps

The Thornton's by work where I get 90% of my fuel was having new pumps installed last week.

Still lots of glass

I got in about 9pm and the glass was still strewn all about the parking lot. I don't know why they didnt clean it up... Derby Run apartments is usually good about picking up trash, but this more dangerous trash has been there for 12+ hours now.

Trash truck incident

The trash truck exploded Friday morning and although they brought another truck to clean up the mess, they ended up leaving a lot of broken glass. I just had to get new tires! So I called the apartment manager and let them know...

Pediddel

Kat has me started playing the "Pediddel Game" we used to play in college. You get points for a car with one headlight out (a pediddel) a tail light out (a leddidep) or both lights out (an idiot). Also if one light is bright and the other is dim (a pedimpel) , that is good too, but no points. Its a little more friendly than the game where you get to punch someone in the throat if you see a Volkswagen Bug.

My little salesman

Logan sold candy bars yesterday from noon until about 4pm. He sold several boxes and was able to pay for his yearly recharter fee. I am happy that he can work to cover this. It helps me out and teaches him responsibility. Plus it also raises money for the pack. Kroger used to let us do fundraising, but now they only allow Girlscouts. We did this at Valumarket in the Outer Loop Plaza and the manager was really nice. I hope we get to work there next time.

Birdfeets

These are the other tracks they discovered. It was like the first time they had ever seen non-pet tracks in the snow.

Wabbit Twacks

The kids found these bunny tracks out by my scooter yesterday.

Falls City Beer

I have been helping my sister on the weekends with getting ready to move. She has this awesome townhouse she is currently renting on Alta avenue in the absolute dead center of the Highlands. She hates to move from this great place, but needs something one floor, and a little smaller. If you know somebody looking, have them contact me. I believe it is very reasonable for that area, and the landlord is a good guy. Anyway, we were going through some boxes and sorting, and she found this cool old Falls City Beer bottle opener!! I love it! She's the best sissy ever!

Chinese Eyeballs!

Mindy, Doris and I went to lunch. Afterwards Mindy said she always wondered about the bakery behind the pub where we got lunch. It has "French, Vietnamese and American baked goods". We got in the place and it looked really good at first. Then you start looking around and you see more details--it looks like a bad horror show! The worst was this stuff in a cup that she said had "Chinese eyeballs"! I went to take this picture and she came over and was watching me, so I asked again what exactly it was. "Chinese eyeball, sewee, shuga wata". At first I thought "Damn! I know they have some overpopulation going on over there and stuff, but that is ridiculous!" then I realized it was "Chinese Eggrolls".
