Ceili Rain at St. Michaels

Theresia and I are at her church tonight for a program. There is a band playing. They play Christian Celtic Rock music I guess. Kind of hard to categorize these guys. But they were good. The opening band was basically a bunch of teenagers and they were not so good, but we are having a good time. 75% of her family is here and I really like all of them.

64 oz of God-awful water

I hate water. I know its 98% of my body, its essential to all life, and I like showers, but I just HATE to drink the stuff! But, in an effort to shed a few pounds, I've been drinking 32 oz between 8am and 12:30pm then another 32 oz between 1pm and 5pm. I have whatever the hell else I want before 8 and after 5, but between p*ssing myself to death and choking this vile liquid down, I am really not much in the mood to drink. I've stopped buying 2-liters also. I'm going to get cans...and very few of them. Coffee before 8. and tea after 5. I think soon I will die.

Lexie Soaks up the Sun

Last night after school, they had try-outs for the Price Elementary Talent Show. Lexie had the disk that I made her and she has been practicing a lot! She was really good and didn't act scared or anything. There were other kids there doing just as good, but most of them were as bad as you think 3rd graders would be. Still they were very cute! I honestly and objectively think Lexie will make it to the final show. She is really pretty good. Look soon at Youtube. I'm going to put the video on there!!!

My sister's new place

My sister Patti moved into a new place this past weekend. Her son Bobby and his fraternity brothers did most of it. I went to see her and give her a housewarming present that I made. It is a small wooden box about 4X4X6 that I stained a medium dark color. After that I decopaged the fortunes that I'd been saving from chinese fortune cookies on the outside. They didn't cover it entirely because I wanted some of the wood to show. On the inside, I made a special one on my computer for the top so she will see it when she opens it. Her place is really unique, quirky and cool. I want to move into the place downstairs but I'm going to stay where I'm at and save for a house.

eragon

Saturday morning I watched my girlfriend's 8yr old girl, Rachael. Lexie, Logan, Rachael and I watched eragon while Theresia was at a class that teaches you all about ceramic tile and how to use it. She's very industrious, and wants to re-do her bathroom. The girls were playing hot-potato with Logan's body, and somebody shoved him too hard. He fell and hit his face on the carpeted floor and got up with a bloody nose. He was freaked out, but fine 10 minutes later. When Theresia got back, we split up. I took the kids to Bardstown road and we walked around looking at stuff. There was this one shop that has very upscale furniture. They had one of the "hollow egg chairs" and the kids were dying to sit in it. Well I let Logan, then after about 10 seconds, I told him it was Lexie's turn. She sat and was getting ready to spin around in the thing and I told her "Before you do that, why don't you take a look at the price tag hanging right beside your head." she saw that it was like $2200 and she told Logan "We need to be really careful in here!" She has a good concept of cost-I have always explained everything to her. So far she's never gotten tired of my talking! Last night I explained how people can buy something that is more than they can pay for, the ideas of loans, credit, banks, and interest. It was at bedtime and poor Logan said "Can we get washed up for bed now?" And Lexie still wanted to hear what I had to say. Mainly that's the difference between their ages.

I watched Rachael again Saturday evening when Theresia had to work doing some data entry for this charity auction. I never really mind watching her because the kids most always have fun playing together and it not any harder than watching my two. We went out that night to the Grocery and we got the stuff to make pizza. We made one with pepperoni, ham, and mushrooms, and the other one with no mushrooms. Theresia came back about 10pm. Since it was a weekend, I kept the kids up. Yesterday we watched a movie called First Born while the kids played. After that, we went out for brunch at Shoneys, then to the park. We were at the park about half the day. After the park, we dropped R and T off at home, and we did a little birthday shopping for Lexie. Her birthday isn't until the middle of next month but I told her a few things I was going to get her. She got to get one thing early-helmet and pads for scooter riding. After that, we went back to the park for a bit and they rode their scooters. Then we had Thai food for supper and went home. I also scotch-guarded the fabric on my couch last night. I have had sheets over it to protect it until I could do that. It has to dry for 12 hours. After the kids went to bed, I worked on the thing I am making for my sister. She just moved and its going to be a housewarming present.

lexie and logan at wedding

lexie and logan wanted to dress up a little for the wedding that we are at right now. lex has on her skirt, and logan is wearing his bow tie.

New Pen I Stole

My co-pay for an office visit was $25 this time! I just about crapped. I decided my compensation was this neat blue VIAGRA pen. I was doing some follow-up. Last month I had bloodwork done. Since gastric bypass, my physician likes to keep a close eye on me. She got the results back, and apparently I have something called "Protein S Deficiency" I did a little research on webmd and it said that lack of protein s in the blood can be linked to a similar lack of vitamin K. So I looked up what vitamin K comes from. Sure enough, it comes from stuff I have not been eating a lot of. With my malabsorbtion, what little greens, broccoli, asparagus, and the like that I DO eat, I probably have really not been getting ANY. I'm adding greens, and more fruit, vegetables, and less potatoes, bread and pasta. Also going to add more whole grains and I'm getting rid of sodas altogether-even diet. Research I have done indicates that artificial sweeteners may have zero calories, but may not really help in losing weight. Legitimate universities have done tests that support this too. There is a lot to be found on the net to do with asparatame toxicity and how it got back door government approval by the FDA. Anyway, I go back again in three weeks and probably have MORE blood drawn to see if things have changed.

geese in the warehouse

sometimes I go out to the warehouse on break to talk to the people who do the shipping. just gets me out of my 8X8 cube for a few minutes. well, I went out this week and there were these geese. they feed them bread and cereal. they will almost come in the open dock door. they will follow this one gal around like she is the momma. its really weird!

Randa the graphic designer is leaving us, and its her last day. marketing invited me over for cake, and that was the first really bad thing I've had to eat all week. well, I did have a $0.99 rallys cheddar burger for supper last night, but as far as sweets, this cake has been it.

I made waldorf salad on monday and have had it several times. I think it tastes ok, but I brought some to Shizue and she never said anything about it, so it must suck. She made an awesome salad dressing this week and I was so impressed with her. I tried a little and it was really good. I thought she came up with it, but she got it from oprah magazine. I'm not as impressed now... she is still awesome!

Spring break is coming up. Since I am taking a week in the summer, I don't want to take spring break so I am putting them in the YMCA for Monday through Wednesday then the kids will be with their mom on Thursday and Friday and (since it is her weekend) also Saturday and most of Sunday. The only bad thing is that Lexie's birthday is on Friday that week. We can have a little birthday party some other time, but I will miss them. I always do after a day or two.

Rocket boy/ pinkeye

This is Logan two weekends ago playin with his Hydrogen Rocket that Lexie got him for his birthday. it shoots up 15 stories high! it is fueled on water that is split into hydrogen gas and oxygen. it runs on just water and 4 batteries!

Tuesday I got a call from his teacher that he had pinkeye. She said he told her that he had already been to the doctor and they put drops in his eyes...don't know where he got that at. His pedestrian called in the prescription for me but he had to be out Wednesday. He's done really good this year and both kids had perfect attendance until now. I wonder how long I have to treat him. I guess i'll be calling the doctor again.

Serum 2006

Horror fans beware! This movie sucked. The best thing about it was the mild nudity, and if you know me, you know that since I turned 16 that's not what I look for in a movie... Effects were crap, acting and cast was crap, the whole movie really blew...

Weekend, Theresia's birthday

This weekend my girlfriend and I celebrated her birthday. I couldn't find anything really cool to do because it wa St. Patrick's day weekend. Mostly everything going on was green beer and live music. When we usually go out, its for live music, so that was nothing really special. I had several things in mind but here's what we ended up doing. We went to lunch at her favorite Chinese restaurant. Afterwards we went shopping and I got her this really pretty blue striped shirt, and some jeans. She looks really adorable in that outfit! Then we went back to my place. We watched a movie, then she went home and we both did housework. She came back over about 7:30 and we ate leftover Chinese. We went out to Airdevil's at 9:00 to see the El Roostars. They were supposed to start at 10 but didn't go on until 11. Their bass player was late... So we were going to stay until late, but they were not playing anything either of us had heard before. That's not to say they were bad--as a matter of fact they were awesome, but if you don't know any of the songs, then its just not as much fun. Besides that, we had waited with nothing to do but drink for 2 hours and there was so much smoke in the air that we just decided to go home. On the way home, I stopped at Krispy Kreme and got a half dozen glazed doughnuts. Not much of a birthday cake now that I think about it. I told her we would go out again in two weeks and do something fun. We did watch the movie "Gridiron Gang" when we got back home, finishing it in the morning. Theresia cried about ten times during the movie... She is so sweet.

Lexie's Story - Max's New Pups

Here's a story Lexie wrote at school.

Max's New Pups

Every day Max goes downstairs to feed his two dogs named Pop and
Suzie. Pop is a boy. Suzie is a girl. When Max when downstairs he
yelled "What?!?!" Their were three new pups drinking Suzie's milk!

Max had to take care of them. Finally he told his dad but he can't
tell his mom because she said they had enough dogs. Max said "Dad,
can I have some money so I can buy the dogs some food?"

Dad answered "Yes."

The next day Dad said "I'll take care of them for a little while and I
will go to the park with them."

While he was gone, Max asked his mom "What if dad and me could afford
three new pups?"

Mom answered "Yes, I would love to, but where are you going to get the money?"

Max said "Dad said he would help."

Mom answered "Maybe…"

"Well mom, there are three new pups." said Max

Mom yelled "Where are they?!?!?"

"At the park with Dad." Max said.

"Ok, let's go see them," said Mom. When they got there his mom said
"Where are the puppies?"

"There on that trail." Max said.

"How did you get them?" asked mom.

"I didn't. They're Suzie's" Max said. When they got on the trail, dad
had the dog.

"Are those the ones?" gasped Mom.

"Yes," answered Max.

"They're so cute!" Mom said.

"And they're ours forever." Max giggled. "Let's name them, and I'll
name mine Sam!" Max shouted.

"I'll name mine Brittany." Mom yelled.

Dad called his Ginger. Mom took the dogs to the vet. The dogs didn't
like that word. The vet said they are all girls. And the puppies
grew up to be very smart dogs and they were one big family.

Lynn & the drummer from the Bedrocke

On New Years eve, my sister Patti wanted me to go out to this dance. The band playing was the Bedrockerz and I had seen them once before and I thought they were good. So I wanted to go but Theresia and I just decided to stay home. Well I told a co-worker about it because she was looking for something to do that night so I told her. Well she started chatting with the drummer and they started dating. I knew she was happy but then I freaked out when she came down just now and told me she was getting married this week!!! I told her it was too soon, but she said they are both adults. I just held my head. She showed me her engagement ring. I feel weird and odd. I really am happy for them and wish them the best, but concerned? Oh yes indeed!

FW: Logan's Artwork

Logan did this picture. It tells a story about a magic seed that would grow gold. He said he would buy a flat screen TV for his room. That cracks me up!

Playing Outside

We played outside for a while last night after we got home. Good thing too, because its raining this morning. Lexie is selling Girl Scout cookies at National City Bank if anybody wants to stop over and grab a box to help out Troop 269. Logan and I are at McDonald's at the playland down the street. We got to the bank at 9am like we were supposed to and the Troop leader was not there until almost 10. That sucked because there was a whole line of people to get in at 9 and the lot was packed at about 930. It thinned out after the initial bunch and they had only sold one box when I left.

My Paintball Gun

This is a picture of my paintball gun. I wanted to play in this huge scenario game at Conder's Painting in Etown, but my friend Charlie crapped out on me. It was one of the first Tippmann Model 98's in the first month they came out. There's nothing particularly special about it except I had a tech put a custom drop-down on it so the tank is inverted. You can get it closer to your shoulder. This gives you a smaller profile and I find that I can fire much faster. I hope I get to play a couple times this year...

Library

This is Logan last time we went to the Library. He likes the Jtown library better than ours in Fern Creek. The kids were off school today so they are spending the day at the CEP. I will have to put them in the whole week of Spring Break too. I only get 10 days off per year and I'm using 5 of them when school lets out to take the kids to Florida. Most awesome Pawpaw and Dana have lent us their timeshare for one week. We are going to see my sister, the ocean, and perhaps Disneyworld. We'll see how money goes.

XIV ring

My father was a welder and a machinist. anything to do with metal basically. I wish my mother was still alive so I could ask her about the different jobs he had. I knew we lived near Flint Michigan for a while so automotive is probably one of the places he worked. anyway, this ring is stainless steel inlaid with what is probably brass. the brass is the roman numerals for the number 14. N is the 14th letter of the alphabet, so that is why he chose it. I also have a steel belt buckle with the XIV. it is actually worth less than the time it took to make it, but it has been in the family for 40 years now, so I'm going to pass it on to Logan.

My Brother Mike

This is my brother Seargent Mike Nall. He works security for a tobacco warehouse. He called me two days ago and said he had something for me, so I went to see him tonight. It was a ring our dad had made.

Superbowl Sweatshirt from Enith

There is this nice lady from Columbia who works in marketing. I help her sometimes when I'm not busy. today she said "Kelly, I need to talk to you." she had this 2XL sweatshirt that a vendor gave her and it was way too big for her so she gave it to me! Free stuff is so cool!

Pet instructions

Logan made me a post-it note with his instructions for taking care of the gerbils this weekend while they are with their
mother. Also I heard him telling his sister he didn't want any sugar on his cereal because it would make his teeth fall out! The ha dental hygiene in school and it made him a little paranoid about sugar. I heard Lexie say "No, Logan!!! We're not doing that any more!!!" which was her way of saying she was tired of his little tooth-decay deal.

Lexie in her first role as Biscuit

Lexie dressed up as her favorite book character today: Biscuit the dog!

Is There Really a Human Race?

Logan dressed for school today as the little boy from the book "Is There Really a Human Race?" by Jamie Lee Curtis.
