The family. We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together. ~Erma Bombeck

Grady is the MAN!
There is this programmer here at work who maintains our system (called R4). Its an AS400/DOS menu looking POS interface but they use it for its basic stability. So what I do...the processes I run multiple times a day involve my switching back and forth between various screens. Its tedious to say the least. Well, Grady is going to be retiring at the end of this year. I was thinking how hard it is to get non-mandatory changes out of the head office, so I just asked him how hard it is and how much time would it take to do a custom menu. He emailed me back and said it would be no problem. Now you might be wondering why nobody has done this before now. Well the woman who did this job before me was a button pusher. She didn't care anything about how or why...just knew which button to push and when. The reason I'VE never asked before now is because I know how overworked Grady is. So I figured what the hell. I told him if it would take much time at all, not to worry about it...but... here's what I want if its not a problem. Guess what? He was able to do it and now its like having a universal remote at home that controls everything. It is really cool. He made it a secret menu so only I know where it is... Grady is 60+ years old, he graduated from Rose Hulman. He is a really cool guy. I will miss working with him. In al honesty, I don't see how the place is going to survive without him. I know it will be a lot harder for me personally!
