The family. We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together. ~Erma Bombeck

XIV ring
My father was a welder and a machinist. anything to do with metal basically. I wish my mother was still alive so I could ask her about the different jobs he had. I knew we lived near Flint Michigan for a while so automotive is probably one of the places he worked. anyway, this ring is stainless steel inlaid with what is probably brass. the brass is the roman numerals for the number 14. N is the 14th letter of the alphabet, so that is why he chose it. I also have a steel belt buckle with the XIV. it is actually worth less than the time it took to make it, but it has been in the family for 40 years now, so I'm going to pass it on to Logan.
