The family. We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together. ~Erma Bombeck

Craziness at work/Shopping for Logan
The kids and I had a good weekend--we always do. We watched a really cute movie called Akeelah and the Bee. It was a little girl who won the national spelling bee contest. It had some good actors in it and held my attention. Went to lunch once and dinner once this weekend, and church was good yesterday.
Logan's BD party is the 10th and this is the final daddy weekend before the party. I had nobody to watch him so I could take her shopping so I took my digital camera, we took pictures of the stuff Logan wants, and she picked out of those things. I will have to go back this weekend when they are with their mom and get the things she wanted for him.

SNOWBALL FIGHT!!!
(cereal that they picked out themselves last night at the store) and I
told them to stop for a second and come to the window. You should
have seen how their eyes lit up at seeing the snow--meager fall such
as it was. They were more excited about this white powder than they
were about opening presents on Christmas! They ate so fast you could
barely see the spoon. I told them "Oh look! It says on the TV that
school has been cancelled!" and they said "Really?!??!" Then I said
"Hah! No!!!!" and they replied "Oh, daddy!" I mess with them all the
time like that. They are pretty much used to it. *grins*
Anyway, we got outside before the bus and had a 10 minute snowball
fight! They were grinning like mad and running around scooping up
snow. It was awesome, and I came into work in a better mood than I
have been in for months.
Logan's fingers look a little better. I forgot to put lotion on them
this morning, but we did last night. I guess they snow would have
washed it off anyway. My boss didn't come in yesterday or today. I
know she has been unhappy here. Maybe she quit and didn't tell
anybody.

Logan's Hands
been eaten up by battery acid or something! His mother drops him off
and said she got him Friday and they went to Tommy's for dinner. She
went to wash his hands and he screamed! They are healing now and he
says they don't hurt, but all the skin is gone off his little fingers
and they are dry and cracked. She didn't tell me until she dropped
them off, and I was almost in tears looking at them. I couldn't keep
from taking his fingers and kissing them, and asking him over and over
if they hurt. He was picking at the dead skin like any little boy
would, and I made him stop. I sent a note to school asking his
teacher if he may have come into contact with any sort of chemical, or
a new lotion, soap, or hand sanitizer.

Walking
loser for not getting exercise, and I don't want to take time away
from being with the kids, so I had been just not doing anything. I
thought I would walk at lunch to just get SOME exercise, thinking that
at least a little bit is better than nothing. For the last couple
weeks, I've been making 2-3 circuits around the building and doing it
2 or 3 times each week. I thought it can't be very far, but at least
it's something. Well, today was cold and I got started late so I
walked twice, and then I decided I would drive around one time just to
see how far I had been walking. It is a solid half mile around the
building! So if I do it 3 times, then that's 1.5 miles. If I go 4
times it's 2 miles. If I can walk 2 miles a day every day (my goal)
then I will feel better. And hopefully I will lose a couple pounds.
