I was showing Logan Theremin music and this came up. Actually not too bad!
The family. We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together. ~Erma Bombeck

Forest bandits!
On the way back to Louisville from Taylorsville Lake we stopped to get gas. It was a good bit cheaper than in town. I saw they had firewood! I want in for a cup of (non-instant!) coffee and asked how much they charge for that stack of wood. Ten dollars!!! That is just forest banditry! And they didn't even have fire starters! Its not like I can haul firewood with me! Nuts...

Flowers
After breaking camp, we took a short hike. Our little hike showed us some of the early beauty of spring. We saw frogs, mayapple, dogwoods (I think) and these delicate little flowers.

Nice neighbors...
We looked all around the park this morning for firewood. This is the first National Park I've been to that has nothing for rent or sale. We found a general store but they were out of wood and had no clue where to get any. I thought maybe a gas station so set the GPS. The closest was still a good distance so I told the kids to look for signs selling wood. After several miles and nothing I pulled in behind a couple in a truck to ask them if they knew where some could be had. They said "follow us we have plenty!" they gave us a whole trunkful of old deck lumber! I ofered to pay and they wouldn't take it.
Logan the little trooper
Lexie often gives up pretty quick and she was ready to sleep in the car...WITH the dog. That was a total veto because he uses pads and is not housebroken! Logan and I worked on the tent and put a tarp up for the dog to sleep under. Lexie helped. Some.
Lexie last night
We were bumbling around pretty good. It took longer to pack than I thought and I didn't have the help of Ms. Kathy The Superorganizer. :) We arrived right at dark and it was still sprinkling. It started a downpour before I could get the tent up. We slept Friday night cold and wet. :(

Logan's basket
Each of them got a Webkinz in their basket because somebunny (Kat) loves them. Everybunny should always have somebunny to love 'em on Easter.
Lexie's Basket
We found the kids baskets at the Dollar Tree. I told Kathy "there's no handle and they are square. They dont look much like Easter baskets to me..." and she explained how they could be used later in their rooms to help organize! That sure is my Kat!
Backwards Easter
We did things a little backwards this year. Kat & I hid plastic eggs with candy for the kids to find. Later after the hunt, the kids sat down and we colored the eggs I had boiled the night before. We were up late doing stuff and I forgot to color eggs!
