The family. We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together. ~Erma Bombeck

Success!!
Well, he only has the guts to go about 20 feet before stopping, and cannot start on his own or turn corners, but we'll keep working on it. I know he'll get quick with Kat's help! I am not sure I have the patience by myself to teach him!!

Idiot
This idiot has been at the window for fifteen minutes and all Kat needs is a receipt for the pump!!!
Logans Bike
Kat has taught Lexie how to ride a bike and has been trying to teach Logan, but the bikes she has are a bi too big. We found this 20" bike at a yard sale. Technically I think its a girls bike but we can repaint it and should be fine for a learning bike.
Not good...
Don't you just hate it when you go in somewhere to get food, then later as you are coming out, you see the low score? This is the newish Subway on National Turnpike. I think everyone should call and ask "what caused your store to get a B grade from the health department?"

Slick tires
My new tires are supposed to be in today or latest tomorrow. This is a really good thing because yesterday on the way home, some jackass left the Thorntons leaving a one foot wide swath of fuel on the road behind him. When I got into that, I just about dropped my bike! What kind of moron wastes money, damages our environment and endangers other motorists like that? Can you tell I'm angry???

I should have known better
We went to Burger King on Outer Loop for a quick bite since Lexie was not home until 8pm. This is the same place where the woman went crazy and picked up a register and threw it in the floor. THIS time the workers were dancing and talking on the phone instead of making our food. The best part though was when one guy yells out "Holy Trinity (school) Sucks D*ck!" while we (and I mean Logan too) were at the counter waiting. Same guy exclaims "I need to be making $12 per hour for what I do!" and "This garbage motherf*cking stinks!" in the dining room while emptying the trash cans. I felt like telling him "You're wrong buddy...dumb*sses like you are not $12 an hour...they are dime-a-dozen." The problem is I'm starting to think they all work here! They just gave us ranch dressing on the side salads without asking what we wanted, and they gave Logan fries instead of the apple dippers he asked for... Makes me highly concerned for the survival of the human race.

Lexie's Concert
I am at Lexie's orchestra concert. The sixth grade only plays in the first half and I was gonna leave at intermission....until I saw they are doing Metallica in the second half! Enter Sandman! Sweet!
"Home-made" Ice Cream Sandwiches
Kat wanted ice cream sandwiches instead of cake so we got ice cream and cookies and we made them. It was kinda fun actually. We got neopolitan so you could make three different kinds...

Iron Man 2
Iron Man 2 was wicked awesome. We saw these little guys before we went in. Lex took her "movie purse" and we smuggled sodas! The movie gives you two peeks on upcoming Marvel works: Captain America's Shield and Thor's Hammer! The action was non-stop and they still employ the best dialog writers in Hollywood for Robert Downey Jr. Two thumbs up for certain!
Birthday at Tumbleweed
These rat-b*stards don't even sing happy birthday! But the loaded queso salsa fries are really good!
Face Paint
It never fails. We never get out of one of these things without one or both kids getting face paint. Lexie looks cute!
Fishing Game
The kids played the fishing game multiple times. I get them enough tickets for the Orbitron and then Lex couldn't go with sandals and Logan got scared and chickened out. I played the fishing game once and won Kat a little stuffed blue angelfish with gay rainbow gills.
Rock Wall
The guy running the rock wall looked mean and very gangster. I thought to myself "he could at least smile..." I didn't see any kids climbing...
Moore Traditional Carnival
Kat, the kids and I went to Moore's carnival. It was not very organized. They sold you tickets for rides and then the people running the stuff only wanted cash. Then at the concession stand they didn't have anything but lemonade and sweet tea. Finally I figured out they did have diet soda and asked to buy one...then stood there for 10 minutes because they couldn't find any. When Kat wanted a sno-cone she handed them the dollar amount they had listed on the paper and they said "Sorry, we only accept tickets, not money."

Derby Run Pool
It doesn't look like we will have a pool again this year. Even if they DO get it fixed, it is apparent they have filled in the deep end and now it just goes to five feet. That's really just a large bathtub since you can't dive in. I am more and more often disappointed in this complex and the decisions they make.
Hangin' in there
Logan and I helped Kat bring some stuff over to mark & tag for her booth at the Peddler's Mall. He had to demonstrate his climbing skills in the tree with low branches. Ok, its more like 'hanging skills' and likely ANY tree with low branches. ;)

Splott is back with the vet!
It didnt take long at all this time! We did what they call a "walk back" where they do the exam without you standing right there. They walk your pet back to the vet who does the work needed and then they bring them back to you. I just have a rescue mutt, not a $900 show dog!! I can do this walk back thing!

Twist and Gone
I went to Twist and Gone yesterday to see the scooter drag races. It was a really cool event put on by the NASRA and Jeremy Hall. This guy in the picture had the fastest scoot overall. You can see pictures & video on my blog, The Kentuckiana Scooter Chronicles at www.kentuckianascooter.com
